Once children are approved and a deposit has been paid, families who face difficulties paying the full tuition fees may apply for the UAF Tuition Assistance Program through Blackbaud Financial Aid (BBFA). The Financial Aid Committee is responsible for determining all Financial Aid Awards based on specific eligibility criteria to include:
-
Family Income
-
Academic Performance
-
Discipline Record
-
Grade level
-
Tuition Payment History
UAF requires families who apply for Financial Aid to complete the online Family Financial Aid application through the Blackbaud website and upload all required documents there. Please note: As a family’s financial situation may change, it is necessary to apply for aid each year. Families must apply to one of the income based scholarships prior to applying for tuition assistance.
The Tuition Assistance application is due May 31, 2023. There is a $45 non-refundable processing fee required by Blackbaud for standard applications. If you have a business, the cost is a $55 non-refundable processing fee. Upon recommendation from BBFA, and the criteria adopted by the school for scholarship grants, the Scholarship Committee decides on the eligibility of applicants and the amount they receive. Due to a limitation of funds available, tuition assistance and amount given will be based on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, parents will be required to volunteer for at least 20 hours per year. In addition, parents who did not fulfill their financial obligations to UAF will not be granted any tuition assistance. Finally, receiving tuition assistance in previous years does not guarantee an award and/or an award with the same value for this year.
