أَلَا وَإِنَّ فِي الْجَسَدِ مُضْغَةً إِذَا صَلَحَتْ صَلَحَ الْجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ وَإِذَا فَسَدَتْ فَسَدَ الْجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ أَلَا وَهِيَ الْقَلْبُ

Verily, in the body is a piece of flesh which, if sound, the entire body is sound, and if corrupt, the entire body is corrupt. Truly, it is the heart.

200MWWC Road Cleanup Volunteer Sign up (UAF Staff & Students)
UAF's Goal number 4 is community Reconstruction. Here is an opportunity to implement this goal as a community! 200 Muslim Women Who Care (200MWWC) is having their annual road cleanup Sunday, September 26th from 9:00am-11:00am, at ISTABA, to clean a mile stretch of Orient Road. They need volunteers and we would love to have our students (grades 8-12) and staff to represent UAF and help them with this project. This is a great opportunity for us to serve the community! 200MWWC will provide high school students with volunteer service hours for this project.

General Reminders 

  • Middle School Mandatory Parent Meeting: A virtual parent meeting will take place this week for all middle school parents via Zoom Link: https://zoom.us/j/3144947862?pwd=d3o1Z1pCbyt6MjFpUEhuZjZkaTgzdz09 . If you are a parent of a middle school student, your attendance is mandatory. Please see the schedule below:
    • 6th grade: Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021, at 10 am.
    • 7th grade: Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at 10 am.
    • 8th grade: Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, at 10 am. 
  • KONA Ice Fundraiser:  Kona Ice will be coming to UAF on Tuesday, September 21st, Insha'Allah! They will be selling during all lunches and will donate 25% of the proceeds to UAF. Please support by sending money with your students to purchase Kona Ice. Scroll down to see the flyer for pricing and details.

  • USF Representative Coming to UAF: A representative from University of South Florida (USF) will be coming to UAF to meet with our Seniors on Thursday, September 23rd at 12:20pm. Inshallah, this meeting will be very beneficial for our Seniors as the rep. will bring great information for the students and will answer any admission related questions or concerns. 

  • PTO Meet & Greet: PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) will be having their first Meet and Greet on Thursday, September 23rd at UAF. Parents interested in joining and/or meeting PTO are welcome to attend.

  • MUHSEN Coming to UAF: MUHSEN's team will be visiting UAF this Friday (September 24th)! K-5th grade students will enjoy a read-aloud by the author of The Four Friend Next Door. Middle and High School students will have an interactive workshop with activities and games to explore concepts about disability in our deen and community. 
  • Upper Elementary Friday Hijab Day: Upper Elementary girls (Grades 3-5) don’t forget Friday Hijab Day. Your hijab color is free of choice to match your Book Character shirt!! Please note, this is totally optional for Upper Elementary girls. The purpose of Friday Hijab day is just to encourage the girls to start wearing hijab and to have them feel excited about it. 
  • Parent Teacher Conferences (Saturday, October 23rd): Our onsite Parent Teacher Conferences will take place on Saturday, October 23rd from 9:00am-1:00pm. All parents are encouraged to attend. Teachers will be sending a signup genius link. Please save the date and plan to attend, Insha'Allah.
  • Aftercare Program: We're excited to announce our new Aftercare Program at UAF ! The philosophy of the Aftercare Program is to provide a safe and positive on-site care for students who need to stay after school hours.  All late student will also be sent to Aftercare and will be charged the aftercare fee accordingly. Aftercare will take place daily in the Computer Lab in Building B.  Parents or authorized pick-ups must walk into the school building and sign the child out.   • Female Soccer Coach: We are looking to hire a female soccer team coach for our high school girls soccer team! If qualified and interested, please email: employment@uaftampa.org.
  • New Tampa Bus Chaperone Needed: We are also looking for a bus chaperone for the New Tampa bus. It is a paid opportunity. If you know someone interested in chaperoning, please have them email employment@uaftampa.org.

  • COVID-19 Response Playbook: Please click here to access UAF's COVID-19 Response Playbook. This playbook provides guidance on how to respond if a child or a staff member exhibits symptoms of COVID-19 or tests positive for COVID-19.
  • Mask Policy: Masks are required for all students, staff and parents/visitors throughout the day while on school campus. Students will be asked to fix their masks when they are out of compliance. Disciplinary action will occur when students reach a certain amount of infractions and consequences will increase in severity. Please ensure your child(ren) comes to school daily with a mask on and backup masks in their backpack in case their mask breaks.  If your child(ren) forgets his/her mask, they would need to purchase a mask from the main office for $1.

Book Character Day.png

UAF's Book Character day is coming up on September 24, 2021! We would like to encourage all of our students from grades K-12  to READ and participate in our school project, T-Shirt Book Report! Please follow the instructions below: 
1. Students must choose a book and get it approved by their ELA teacher no later than Monday (9/13/21).
2. Students must follow the directions to the T-Shirt project and come in with their t-shirts on Friday (9/24/21). K-5 Grade Students may come dressed with their Book Character Shirt and loose-fitted pants of their choice. Jeans are allowed (NO SKINNY JEANS). Friday attire for secondary students. 
3. In lieu of the character-building theme of the month, kindness, students are encouraged to indicate how the main character portrayed kindness to those around him/her on their shirts!
4. Students will be presenting their projects  (shirts) to their classmates.
