UAF Mission

The mission of the Universal Academy of Florida is to teach our students the principles and practices of Islam and prepare them for academic success and good citizenship.

Be Optimistic!

What does it take to be an Optimist?

  1. Tawakkul (Trust in Allah for results)
  2. Maintain a balancing act of fear & hope and optimism & reality
  3. Start your day with the empowering Duas (supplication) of the Prophet, peace be upon him
  4. Keep company with positive, result-oriented people
  5. Engage in physical exercise
  6. Smile more!

Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was optimistic and he did not see evil omens, and he liked good names.

Musnad Aḥmad

Motto:A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”

 FUN FACTS

Did you know that...

Being kind actually makes you healthier.
  • Studies have found that when we give of ourselves, everything from life satisfaction to self-realization and physical health is significantly improved.
  • When you are kind to another person, your brain’s pleasure and reward centers light up, as if you were the recipient of the good deed—not the giver. This phenomenon is called the “helper’s high.”
  • Perpetually kind people have 23% less cortisol (the stress hormone) and age slower than the average population.
  • Committing acts of kindness lowers blood pressure.
